Lifestyle: Why I Decided To Get a Gastric Band

Why I Decided To Get a Gastric Band
I know I've been pretty absent for the last month and that it's been a bit of a mystery. So I thought I would do a post explaining what's been going on with me recently. Now I know not everyone is interested in more personal posts and that's fine, I completely understand, this post is for the people who are interested.

Ok, so if you've been reading my blog for a while I'm sure you'll know it's no secret that I'm not a size 0. As much as I joke and make light about it, I've always been self conscious and unhappy with my weight. Let me first say that I've been on every diet you can imagine, I'm a serial yo-yo dieter and have pretty much tried everything to lose weight. I obviously have quite a lot of weight to lose, we're not just talking about a few pounds and as it was making me so unhappy, I was desperate.

Now, let me also say that my mum and I had been researching gastric bands online and had also discussed it with my gp and after serious consideration I decided it was the right thing for me.

I know not everyone will agree with my decision for whatever reason and I understand everyone is allowed their own opinion. This was just the best option for me and I didn't go through with it lightly.

So I had my gastric band operation 4 weeks ago and I've lost just over a stone since the beginning of November, it's still early days and it's by no means a quick fix. I decided this was the best option for me, as it's a complete life change and a complete overhaul of your eating habits.

I know I've not gone into it in great detail but I might in the future if anyone is interested.

I was a bit reluctant to write this post to begin with as I know the subject is a bit controversial and not everyone will agree with my decision, but I wanted to be open and honest with you all.

Thank you for your continued support!

XOXO Claire
