China Glaze "Hunger Games" Nail Polish Collection

You might of heard of a little film that's taking the world by storm, The Hunger Games, anyone? Well as a huge fan myself I decided to do my own tribute to the film/books by making my latest nail of the day hunger games themed. Luckily my order of a few of the limited edition polishes turned up yesterday morning, just in time, as I was seeing the film that night, more on the film later.

First let me show you which polishes I picked up, out of the 12 polishes in the collection I only fancied 5.

China Glaze Hunger Games Collection
L-R  Luxe & Lush, Electrify, Smoke & Ashes, Riveting, Agro.

Beautiful colours, although I would say they are more suited to Autumn/Winter and as we're approaching spring they aren't really season appropriate, but I made an exception.

It took me a long time to decide which combination I was going to choose for the special event, but I got there in the end lol. Wanna see?

The two colours I went for were Smoke & Ashes on most of my nails and Riveting on my ring fingers. I personally love this combination, it's eye catching and really stands out. I decided to do the bright ring fingers to symbolize "The Girl On Fire" which is a really prominent moment in both the film and the book.

Also Smoke & Ashes was opaque in 1 coat, how amazing is that, I don't think I've ever come across a dark polish this opaque. From far away this polish looks black but it's actually got lots of tiny green and blue sparkles in it, it really is a unique polish that I think everybody needs in their collection.

As for the film itself, I thought it was a really good adaptation and I really enjoyed it. I'm a huge fan of Jennifer Lawrence, she was amazing in Winters Bone (100% recommend this film) and she definitely did the role of Katniss justice. The film looked amazing on the big screen, it really lived up to my expectations.

Let me know what you think of this combination & the collection, have you seen the film yet, verdict?

XOXO Claire.
