First Impressions: Ciate Caviar Manicure Set in Rainbow

You may remember from my Florida Haul that I picked up the famous Ciate Caviar Manicure Set, well it's taken me a while but I finally got around to trying it out, and here's how I got on:

    Ciate Caviar Manicure Set Rainbow

This set comes with:
1 Ciate Paint Pot in Strawberry Milkshake
I Paint Pot of Caviar Pearls
1 Funnel
1 Tray

I was definitely expecting this set to be a lot messier than it actually was, but thanks to the utensils the set comes with it was very easy and straightforward. First you apply two coats of the actual polish, which unfortunately was quite sheer so I had to do three coats, it was also very gloopy and I found it quite difficult to work with, which is a such shame because it's a very pretty colour, it's just a lot of work to get there.

I choose to apply the pearls just to my ring finger this time, as it was my first try and I didn't want to waste them You have to pour the beads over the nail while the polish is wet, but you have to be quite quick because this particular polish dries almost immediately. After I applied the pearls I waited half an hour for them to fully dry and then I added my Seche Vite Topcoat.

As for longevity don't expect them to last that long, after about an hour I started to notice a few of them had already fallen off, as you can probably tell by the picture lol. On the box it says they last 48 hours, which I would agree with, after that they start to look messy and need to be re-applied. This set is a lot of money coming in at a whopping £18, I think you're paying for the idea rather than the polishes themselves.

I think for a night out or special occasion they would be fun but that's it, they are most definitely a fad and with all fads they always fizzle out and a new one replaces it.

Let me know what you think of the whole caviar manicure idea, fun fad or do you think they will stand the test of time? (Name that movie lol ).
