NOTD | Essie Licorice Nail Polish

My best friend Grace, who I've mentioned many times before recently started at the Yorkshire College of Beauty and because she has to practice for her course, it would have been rude of me not to volunteer to be a test subject. I got the full works, she filed my nails, did my cuticles, I even got a hand and arm massage. Lastly she painted them for me. I honestly think it's her calling, I'm in love with how they turned out.

 Have a look for yourself.

She used an Essie ridgefiller as basecoat then did one coat of Essie licorice, you heard me right that polish was opaque in one coat, we were all in awe. It's from the diffusion line in Boots, I think they may have tweaked the formula because I can honestly say I've never seen a black polish that only needs one coat.

She then applied my new Urban Outfitters Nail Polish in Twinkie, to add a bit of sparkle. The stars are quite hard to get out of the bottle, so we decided to just put them on my thumbs, but I think it looks so cute, like a nights sky.

Lastly she applied the seche vite topcoat, which we both love, it's definitely the best topcoat I've ever come across, though the Essie polish was so shiny on it's own you could probably get away without one, if you were feeling brave. I personally never paint my nails without one, just to make sure they last longer.

Thank you Gracie for doing my nails, I love them.

Let me know what you think, as always leave any polish recommendations below, Also have any of you done a course at the Yorkshire College of Beauty, definitely let me know how you found it.

XOXO Claire
