Product Review: Jemma Kidd Light As Air Foundation

I don't know about you girls but I'm always on the hunt for the perfect foundation, I'm pretty sure I've found it at the high coverage end with Estee Lauder Double Wear, but the medium coverage spot was still wide open, or so I thought. Round about Christmas time (last year) I was umming and arring about picking up the Jemma Kid Light As Air foundation, Anna from Vivianna Does Makeup was raving about it and of course, it caught me attention, she's such an enabler that one.

Anywho, at the time I got it I wasn't too keen, though thinking about it now, I was still in my double wear faze, so that was probably why.

Needless to say, now I'm a huge fan:
As the weather got a little warmer (little being the operative word) I decided my double wear was a bit too full coverage, and I needed to find a foundation to replace it, that was still medium coverage, (I'm not really a sheer girl). Anyway one day completely out of the blue I decided to give this one another go and it was love.

As you can see from the picture, it is a pretty runny foundation and can make quite a mess. I wouldn't recommend wearing a black dress while applying it, let's just say that much lol.

Anywho despite the dodgy packaging the foundation itself completely makes up for that. It's, as it's name would suggest, light, and very easy to blend. As I said earlier it's medium coverage, that's definitely build-able. It has really great staying power and when used with a primer will stay on all day long. I can't really say how long it lasts without a primer, as I always use one, but I would guess it would hold up well.

I think this foundation is really good if you want to transition away from high coverage foundations but are scared of anything too sheer. It gives just enough coverage to even out your skintone and cover blemishes, without leaving your skin feeling cakey.

Although this foundation is on the pricey side, it's normally £25, I 100% recommend it, they have a pretty good shade range with about 10-11 different colours to choose from.

Unfortunately there have been a some issues with a few of the shades, and some of them (I think the medium ones) are hard to get hold of, I think they are sold out everywhere, luckily for me I'm the lightest shade, which is number 1 ultra light just in case you were wondering, and it matches me perfectly.

Out of all my foundations I would probably say I use this one the most, which is big for me, because I can be quite flaky when it comes to products, what can I say, I'm not very good with commitment lol.

Let me know if you've tried this foundation and what you think of it?

          XOXO Claire.

  1. I've been eyeing this foundation for quite a while. I prefer a medium coverage because I don't like looking cakey. Your FOTDs look fantastic.

It's payday tomorrow, time to treat myself...
