Makeup Edit: My Mac Neutral Eyeshadow Quad

I hold me hands up, I've not used my Mac eyeshadows nearly as much as I thought I would. I think it's because I used to store them in one of the old 15 pan palettes, which at the time sounded like a good idea, but in theory it was way too bulky and you couldn't actually see the colours inside. After that I decided to buy my eyeshadows in pot form thinking that would be easier, nope, I just put them in a drawer and totally forgot about them.

About a month or so I decided to pick up one of the newly designed quads, as they look so much sleeker and easier to use. That then speared me on to Depot My Eyeshadows, something I've been meaning to do for over a year.

Anywho here are the selection of eyeshadows I chose for my new quad:

Is a frosty pale gold with shimmer, that makes the perfect inner corner highlight. It's beautiful, one of my favourites and is a nice alternative to sliver highlighters.

Is a warm peachy/beige, again with gold shimmer. It's a lovely all over the lid colour that warms up the completion and looks good on it's own or combined with other shades.

Is obviously a taupe (lol) with silver shimmer and is definitely one of Mac's most famous shades for a reason. It's gorgeous for adding definition to the crease or if you're in the mood for a smoky eye, all over the lid.

Is a coco brown with silver shimmer. It's perfect for darkening up a look or again adding more definition to a lighter colour.

Here are a few swatches:

As you can tell I tend to prefer shimmery eyeshadow over matte, in fact I don't think I actually own any matte eyeshadows. Thanks to this handy dandy quad, my poor under loved eyeshadows will finally have their day.

Let me know what you think of the colours I've chosen? Are you a fan of the new palette design?, what are your go-to neutral eyeshadows?

XOXO Claire

  10. I am not a fan of shimmer colours but satin tope looks so pretty! I also think the new pallets are great so you it's easy to see what is inside.

    1. I think shimmer is either a love or hate kind of thing, personally I love it but, it can look too much sometimes, you have to be quite light handed. :-)
