Makeup Edit: My 25th Birthday Dinner

First I want to start off by saying a huge Thank You for all the Happy Birthday Wishes on Monday, it was so sweet and really made my day extra special. I still can't quite believe I'm 25,  though you wouldn't know it by my round chubby cheeks. Most people still think I'm in my late teens haha.

I didn't do anything too special to celebrate, we just went to TGI Fridays, but that still didn't stop me from trying out a few new beauty products, including the new Bumble & Bumble Surf Shampoo & Conditioner. I also tried my hand at liquid eyeliner for the first time in about a year, lets just say my skills leave a lot to be desired lol.

Rimmel Scandal Eye Liner in "Nude" (waterline)

Hair:

Living Proof Full Root Lifting Spray
Oribe Dry Texturising Spray

For my base I decided to bring out my face and body foundation from hibernation, hopefully it's not gone off haha, and I mixed it with the Laura Mercier Silk Cream for a bit more coverage. They actually work really well together, dewy with the right amount of coverage, the perfect summer nighttime foundation if you ask me.

The rest of my face (except for lips) was left quite simple, though I did add a bit of winged eyeliner, which is definitely not my forte. I'm actually not too sure it suits my face, dark eye make up makes my eyes look really small. Plus I found the eyeliner stuck to my eye lashes making mascara application really difficult. The whole cat eye look is obviously not for me.

One thing that I think is definitely "me" though is bright lips and you can't get any brighter than the Tarte Glamazon Lipstick in Fierce. It is one hot colour!! plus it has amazing staying power, just remember to use a lip brush, it can get a little messy straight from the bullet. I'm definitely going to pop up a post with swatches because it's such a pretty colour and the formula is top notch, not in the slightest way drying.

This was also my first time trying the newly raved about Bumble & Bumble Surf Foam Wash Shampoo and Conditioner, so far so good. I'm going to give it a few more washes till I can give a definitive decision though.

What have you been up to this week, anything exciting?

XOXO Claire
