FOTD | Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick in 107

During the Autumn/Winter, berry shades are pretty much the only thing I wear on my lips, except my Nuxe lip balm of course. There are two colours in particular that I like to rotate, Mac Rebel which is probably my all time favourite lipstick, and the lipstick that's the main focus of today's post, Rimmel 107.

When I decide on a berry lip I always make sure to keep the rest of my face pretty natural. I'd actually forgotten how much I like the Revlon Nearly Naked foundation, it leaves your skin looking so dewy and fresh, perfect for this time of the year as my skin does have a few dry patches. I tried to do a mainly drugstore face, but I just had to use my beloved Nars concealer because I've yet to find a cheaper alternative, so if you have any recommendations I would love to hear them!

On to the main reason for this post, the Rimmel Kate matte 107 lipstick. It has everything I look for in a lipstick, fantastic pigmentation, none drying matte formula, plus it's incredibly cheap, what more could you want? Though it's called a matte lipstick it does have a bit more of a sheen compared to other matte lipsticks I've tried in the past. Which I personally think is a good thing as it means it's a lot comfortable on the lips, although I do recommend using a lip balm beforehand and maybe a lip liner. Wear time for me is around 4 hours, then a bit of maintenance is needed, just around the middle of my lips, but even so, that's pretty good going.

As for how it matches up to it's Mac counterpart, Rebel, I would definitely say Rebel has longer staying power, but 107 is a little more glossy, or as glossy as a matte lipstick can be anyway. This is definitely one lipstick that I think everyone should have in their collection, it's so wearable and flatters most skintones.

Do you have this lipstick in your collection? If not what's your go-to berry lipstick? Definitely leave me your drugstore concealer recommendations below, I'm on the hunt for a goodun!

XOXO Claire

  4. It looks so pretty, I really want to get it! I have Kate Moss 01 which is a deep red and I adore it, although something a bit darker like 107 would be lovely. :)
