Product Review: YSL Youth Liberator Foundation

Without even realising I've been using this foundation for the past few months and I've yet to mention it (shame on me) so I thought a little review was definitely overdue.

Fist of all let me explain what I look for in a foundation. I like medium coverage, enough to cover my flaws, but doesn't feel like I'm wearing a mask. I do prefer a matte finish as I have combination skin and I normally go for foundations that lean more on the pink side as that's my skins undertone. Right, now that's out of the way onto the foundation.

YSL Youth Liberator Foundation £36

The premise of this foundation is that it creates a youthful, rejuvenated complexion that makes skin look firmer and reduces fine lines. Normally I steer clear of dewy finishes, but my interest was definitely sparked by this foundation, though I think secretly it was the packaging that drew me in. I can't really comment on the firmer skin and fine lines claims, but I can definitely agree that this foundation makes my skin look rejuvenated.

YSL Youth Liberator Foundation Review
It's a medium coverage foundation that leaves your skin looking healthy and ever so slight plumped, like you've had a good 8 hours sleep.

Due to my combination skin I do have to use a powder, but the overall wear time is pretty good. I don't know how it will hold up in the summer, when my skin is more on the oily side, but for now it's perfect.

YSL Youth Liberator Foundation Review

It's not the cheapest foundation option out there, but a little really does go a long way and the handy pump helps dispense just the right amount of product. If you're after a glow from within type of foundation, that's very luxurious, this is the one for you!

It even has my mums stamp of approval, I used it on her a few times and she loved the finish so much I bought her her own, mainly so she would stop stealing mine haha.

What's been your go to foundation recently?

XOXO Claire

    1. It is quite pricy but there is always discount codes, it just takes the edge off, but it is worth it :)

    1. I think it should, my mum has mature skin and it didn't cling to any of her dry patches :)

  6. I haven't tried this yet as my skin can get quite oily and I too tend to shy away from dewy finishes! But this sounds great, will have to try it out!

  9. The finish looks great in the photo too, I can see it's not too heavy! I've been using Dr Jart BB cream and it may be similar - good coverage but dewy and lightweight! I love the little Eiffel tower in the background btw - how fitting for YSL!
