Product Review: Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

It's no secret how much I love my Bioderma, I've raved about it countless time and even my friends and family have become hooked. The only downside is it's pretty pricey and can only be bought in a few places. Due to the success of the Micellar Water trend and it's high demand it wasn't long before other brands came out with their own versions, to hopefully rival Bioderma in price and quality. I have already tried L'Oreal's version which I unfortunately didn't get along with, I found it too greasy for my combination skin. So, when I heard about the Garnier's offering I thought I would give that one a go, with a little trepidation, but here's how I got on:
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Review

First of all let's state the obvious, the packaging is very similar, which isn't a bad thing. It's very sleek and easy recognizable, the spout (I can't think of another word for it haha) dispenses the product seamlessly, which is one of the problems I had with the L'Oreal version, it did go everywhere and I lot was wasted - not with this version.

Packaging out of the way, lets get to the most important part, how it removes make up. I have to say I was very impressed, it completely removes every trace of my make up without having to tug at the skin. I don't know how it performs with waterproof mascara as I don't personally wear it, but for normal mascara it works really well. It's very gentle especially around the delicate eye area. It also doesn't leave my face red and blotchy or leave behind any greasy residue. My skin feels clean and refreshed without feeling dry and tight.

I never thought I would actually say this, I do feel loyal to my beloved Bioderma, but I think it works just as well. I have a little trouble distinguishing between the two, plus I can't say that the cheaper price point and wider availability haven't got my attention.

A 400ml bottle of the Garnier version costs just £4.99, compared to the £14.99 500ml bottle of Bioderma. So, if my really bad maths skills are correct you can get 3 bottles of the cheaper stuff for just one bottle of Bioderma. Plus Boots and Superdrug almost always have offers going on.

I know, it's the end of an era, though I think in the long run my wallet will thank me. Good job Garnier, you've done the unthinkable, converted me to a drugstore make up remover!

Have you tried this micellar water dupe? What do you think? Are you converted?
