The Forgotten "Beauty" Steps

I think in everyone's beauty routine there are a few steps or in my case body parts that don't get much attention, so today I thought I would share with you a few of my "Forgotten Steps" in the hope that it will kick me up the bum to give them a bit of TLC for the upcoming warmer months, especially as I go on holiday at the end of the month. So I better get crack-a-lacking!

Hands up, who actually uses a heat protectant? I know it's bad, but it's a step I always forget. I hate having to blow dry my hair and adding another product into the mix making the whole process take longer just irritates me, can you tell I'm not a hair person haha. Anyway, I'm certainly going to try to remember to use this spray whenever I choose to style my hair, promise!

Feet are definitely a bit of an "eeww subject" that not many people like to talk about, but as sandal weather creeps closer they are not something I can ignore any longer. I need to dust off my foot files and get moisturising as you can imagine how gross they are after being concealed in socks and boots for 7 months. (Sorry for that visual.)

Nail Buffer
Butter London Melt Away Cuticle Eliminator
Elegant Touch Cuticle Pusher & Nail Cleaner
Despite my love for nail polish and my constant need to reapply different shades, I am a bit of a slacker in the cuticle department. I just want to get on with painting my nails as that's my favourite part, even though I should probably do the full works. My cuticles are currently very overgrown and certainly need some special attention, as do the ridges in my nails.

Body Moisturising:
The Body Shop Mango Body Butter
Moisturising my body is a definitely a step I forgo, I hate having so stand around waiting for my limbs to dry, how boring! That being said, I do go on holiday in exactly 3 weeks, so I really need to get my skin back to looking more like skin and not resembling a scaly lizard asap!

Eye Cream:
Origins GinZing Eye Cream
I'm not getting any younger, yes in four short weeks I turn the big 2-6, which I'm not going to lie, scares the life out of me! I've never thought about anti aging products before but I guess I should start seeing as I'm getting old (sob). I always forget to apply eye cream in the morning so I'm going to try to remember from now on.

What steps in your beauty routine do you always forget?

XOXO Claire

  1. My goodness, this post just made me realise how much I actually forget on a daily basis (opps). I only remember to put heat protectant every now and then and don't even get me started on eye cream! I'm sure I will regret it in about 20 years or so! Do love that Origins eye cream on the occasions that I do remember to apply it!!

  3. Replies
    1. They really are, they leave my skin so soft and smell absolutely amazing! :)

  4. I got into the habit of always using a heat protectant a couple a years ago, and it's made a huge difference! I do moisturize regularly, but I know it would be good for me to do it even more often! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog :) I'm so glad to have discovered yours!

  5. I LAAHHVE Butter polishes. They're so luxurious! Must try out this cuticle eliminator! Sounds great!

    1. Me too, the packaging is adorable :)

  6. I'm so happy I found your blog! Lovely post and I totally agree, I focus so much on certain products for the same thing and forget all about the neglected areas!

  7. Aaah, I always forget about heat protectants these days! I end up using a normal spray and oil on my hair so I guess I don't want to overload it too much, but I should probably use a little.

The same with body moisturisers too, I'm just too lazy half the time!

    1. Thank goodness I'm not alone, but I do worry about using to many products :)

  8. I am terrible with hands/cuticles- mostly cuticles. I get into the habit of using oil, but then fall right back out. I love the S&G foot cream! It was recently released here and I've almost finished a tube already.

    1. A few days of religiously using the Soap & Glory Foot Cream and you can really see a difference :)

  9. I'm with you on forgetting my feet... I alwayssssss forget to apply foot cream, but always love how my feet look and feel once I've used it! xx
