January 2015 Beauty Favourites

Long time no speak guys, how on earth are we in February already? I still have Christmas chocolate left haha. Anywho a new month means a few new beauty discoveries, even though for the majority of January I was bare faced trying to get my skin under control, but here are a few products that did impress me this month.

Charlotte Tilbury So Marilyn Lipstick
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara Review
// Nars Dual Intensity Eyeshadow in Dione //
This particular eyeshadow has been sat in my draw unloved for way longer than it deserves, so this month I pulled it out and put it to work. Alone this shade is a gorgeous metallic golden beige/taupe colour, really unique, but this month I've actually been wearing this shadow over the top of Pewter from the Lorac Pro Palette. It's a gorgeous combination that's perfect for an evening out.

// Charlotte Tilbury So Marilyn Lipstick //
So another red lipstick may not be much of a surprise, but the staying power of this little lipi is definitely impressive, though I don't expect anything less from CT. This bold red is super creamy and glides on the lips like a dream. It's really comfortable on the lips for such a bold colour, you can barely feel it there at all. As for staying power, I managed to eat some toast without looking like the joker, to me that's pretty impressive!

// Mac Fix + //
Spotty skin means crusty skin (sorry for the visual) so to prevent my concealer from looking cakey I've been relying on this spray which is essentially water infused with a few vitamins, to set my make up in place and reduce the "caking effect" I know, how scientific of me but it works really well. I've also been spraying a little on my eyeshadow brush to really intensify any shadow, it's dynamite.

// Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara (mini) //
I never thought I would find competition for my favourite Tarte mascara, but Too Faced have definitely brought it with this saucy little number. This mascara really packs a punch in the volume department making my lashes thick and black, look out for a full dedicated post coming soon.

// Rodial Stem Cell Super Food Facial Oil //
Don't let the name of this fool you, though it says oil it actually has the texture of a thin serum. It literally skins into the skin without leaving a sticky or oily residue, it's so luxurious my dehydrated skin just drinks it up. It's such a light weight serum/oil that I can actually use it on a morning before my moisturiser.

// Goldfaden MD Doctors Scrub (mini) //
If you're looking for the daddy of exfoliators look no further, this one seriously gets down to the nitty gritty (excuse the pun!) The super fine mixture made up of ruby crystals polishes away the dead skin cells like no other scrub I've ever used. My skin was as smooth as a babys bottom, though it's definitely not for the faint hearted, if you have sensitive skin I would stay well away, it is very abrasive.

// Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation //
This moisturiser sits really well underneath make up and like the name would suggest it's light and hydrating without scrimping on moisture factor. There's not really much else to say except that I find it pretty hard finding a moisturiser that doesn't interfere with my make up, so I was very impressed by this one.

// Sachajuan Hair Repair //
Lastly we have a hair care product and I have to say, this one might be a favourite just for the scent alone. It's one of those difficult to describe sort of scents, actually to me it smells like what I would imagine Channing Tatum to smell like, just delicious! Seriously, go to a Space NK and have a whiff, yum. Ok, now onto what it does, it's basically a deep conditioning treatment. It does make my hair nice and soft & tangle free but it's the scent that's got me hooked.

Those are my favourites for January, who's already longing for Spring? I know I certainly am!

What products impressed you during the month of January? Come on indulge me, A new year means I need to beef up my beauty wish list haha.

XOXO Claire

  9. It does seem like a gimmick, you could just pop some water in a spray bottle, but I love the scent and it just melts my make up into my skin ;)
