Beauty Edit: My Morning Skincare Routine 2015

To me there are very few things as important as taking care of your skin, at the end of the day you can remove your clothes but you're stuck with your skin for the rest of your life, so treat it like a baby - it needs a routine and tender loving care! Right, I should probably tell you a bit about my skin type before we begin. I have combination skin (oily t-zone, with a few dry patches) that gets the occasional bout of spots, (though fingers crossed they are now under control, time will tell). I also have an issue with scarring which is a big concern for me, especially as my skin is so fair, so to help combat all of the above,  here is my current morning routine rundown:

My Current Morning & Evening Skincare Routine
My go-to cleanser for the last few months has been the Ren Clearcalm Clarifying Clay Cleanser, to which I think I can attribute to my much clearer looking skin. It's quite an unusual cleanser, as it has quite a thick mask like consistency, and you might assume at first glance it would be super drying, but that couldn't be further from the truth. It deeply cleanses the skin but also leaves it so hydrated and baby soft, it's amazing. If you have blemish prone skin you definitely need to try this one.

When it comes to exfoliation I'm all about the liquid form thanks to the First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads. They are quick, easy and effective and not only that, they are gentle enough to use everyday and leave your skin with a lovely glow.

I'm currently waging a war against pigmentation and scarring and thanks to the Estee Lauder Enlighten Dark Spot Correcting Night Serum, I might eventually win that war. Obviously with serums it can take a while to notice a difference, for me it took about two weeks. It's reduced my redness, my scarring has faded and my skin is more even. The first time I noticed it was when I needed to use less foundation for those areas and my skin was just flatter. Now three months on I'm still using it and I can definitely see a difference without make up.

Finding the perfect moisturiser is quite a challenge for me, it needs to be light but still hydrating and sit nicely under make up. My most recent addition, the Kiehls Skin Rescuer does all of that and comes in a cute little bottle with a pump, bingo.

I need some serious help with my under eye-bags and the First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Tripe Remedy is a lovely eye cream/concealer hybrid that gets the job done. If I apply my make up without using this eye cream I can definitely notice a difference, yuck. If you fancy reading my review in full, here's the link to that post.

My lip balm hasn't really changed for the last two years, it's still the Nuxe Reve De Miel Lipbalm, I'm now on my third or forth tub and it's still my first love. If you haven't tried this lip balm yet, read this post and make it your summer mission... your bright lipsticks will thank you for it!

I think I've definitely scaled down my products over the last few years and I'm so happy with this little selection. They really work for my skin and I would 100% repurchase everything.

What skincare products are currently in your morning rotation/routine? I would love to know what products you would recommend for scaring and pigmentation?

XOXO Claire

Liking the sound of the Kiehls Skin Rescuer, I've really liked what I've tried of the brand so far so might look into this a bit more! I concentrate on pigmentation more in my evening routine but I love Alpha H Liquid Gold and Avene TriAcneal!

  4. I'm hooked on the Ren cleanser, I've actually just bought a back up which is something I hardly ever do. So that definitely says a lot! :)
