Beauty Products On Trial #5

I'm always testing out new beauty products. I think it's my duty as a beauty blogger, so my dressing table always looks like a science laboratory, except instead of vials filled with DNA, mine's covered in bottles of nail polish and baskets filled with miniature beauty samples. Today I thought I would investigate a few products and give you my first impressions.

Skincare, Review, Clarins, Pixi
This cleanser has been sat in my stash for quite some time, but I just never got around to using it. I finally gave it a go last week and was pleasantly surprised. It's a light gel cleanser that emulsifies into an oil when rubbed into dry skin. I found that it removed every trace of my makeup, without stinging my sensitive eyes and left my skin feeling super soft. I must say, I'm impressed so far.

Kiehls Micro-Blur Skin Perfector
This primer is the "I'm gonna give this another go" product of the bunch. I tried it a while ago and wasn't that impressed, so back into the drawer it went. Fast-forward to last week, when I was desperately searching my stash for something to help disguise my gigantic pores. This primer did the trick, it stopped my Charlotte Tilbury "Magic" Foundation from sinking into my crater-like pores. It has that smooth velvet consistency and just glides over my skin, it definitely helped me in my pore hour of need (haha, get it).

Pixi have certainly upped their whole beauty game by expanding their skincare range. There are quite a few products I would love to try, particularly their Mud Cleanser, but I started with this sleep mask. It's light, but still moisturising, I definitely agree with the name "Nourishing". My skin looks plump and healthy when I wake up from my slumber.

I was super excited to try this makeup remover, the bottle alone is adorable. While it seemed to do a good job at removing the bulk of my eye makeup, it's oil suspended in water formula was a bit too heavy for my face. I have a suspicion it may have caused me to break out, now I know the name clearly says "Eye" Makeup Remover, but I'm looking for something that I can use everywhere. I'm not gonna lie, I was a bit disappointed with this one.

Miniature CT products get the award for most beautifully packaged products that's for sure, though I'm still a bit undecided with the actual product inside. It's a very thick, cream moisturiser, that promises an abundance of good things for your skin. For me personally though, while it did give a lovely glow, I just found it a bit too heavy for my combination skin, even at night. I think people with extra dry skin will love it though, if you can get past the excruciating price tag!

Clarins Comfort Lip Oil
H&M Cream Blush in Sunny Peach
With all the hype surrounding the H&M Beauty line, I had to pick a little something to save my curiosity. I chose a cream blush which isn't normally my m.o. (sorry I've been watching too much Criminal Minds haha), but I wanted to step out of my comfort zone. Unfortunately I'm not too impressed, you really have to rub hard to pick up any product and when you do, it's pretty shimmery- not something I normally look for in a blush. I have a feeling I made a mistake going for a cream instead of powder.

I never thought I would cheat on my beloved Nuxe Lip Balm, but I was desperate to try this lip oil and Santa kindly left one under my Christmas tree. It's a rich moisturising oil, that's neither greasy nor sticky. Even though it's the raspberry shade it doesn't offer that much colour, just a lovely hydrating, glossy finish. I love to throw on this oil when I can't be bothered with lip products, the large applicator makes it easy peasy, lemon squeazy.
I like to switch up my products pretty regularly, I'm a bit of a flirt when it comes to beauty products, commitment's not for me (in the world of beauty hehe.)

What beauty products are you currently trying out? Do you have any keepers?
