What's Currently In My Makeup Bag 2016?

It's been a while since we had a rummage through my makeup bag, isn't it? The contents have certainly changed over the last few months, though there are a few old faithfuls that have stood the test of time (for me that's around 6 months haha). So I thought I would give you a little makeup rundown...

What's in my makeup bag?
Benefit Roller Lash Mascara
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Palette
Let's start off with my base products:
I've been trying out the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation over the last few months and I'm really beginning to love it. It's a medium to full coverage foundation, but it still manages to feel weightless on the skin, which I like. A little goes a long way, so you do have to make sure it's completely buffed into the skin, things can get a bit cakey if you use too much product.

Remember when I said some not so nice things about the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer, well I've had a change of heart, which you will know about if you saw my "Beauty Mixology Post" Hey, I'm a Gemini, it's a girls prerogative to change her mind, right? Anywho, it's great at hiding my under eye bags, nuff said!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Palette
This multi-purpose palette has been a big hit with me since Christmas. I use the yellow toned power for setting my under eye concealer, and mix together both of the blushes for a fresh, healthy glow. Sometimes I use the highlighter, but recently I've been reaching for my beautiful Becca Afterglow Palette because you can't go wrong with a Becca highlight, the shade Moonstone, oh baby... what a beauty!

I've been super lazy with my eyeshadow lately, mainly because I've been wearing my glasses instead of contacts (don't ask, it's a very mundane story). So a one wash shade is all I've been reaching for, the Makeup Geek "Creme Brule" Eyeshadow does a fantastic job of adding a bit of dimension and colour in one sweep. I have a whole eyeshadow centered post in the works, so keep an eye out.

Due to me having to wear my glasses, I really need my lashes to stand out, so I put a few coats of Benefit Roller Lash Mascara on my top lashes. While I like this mascara for a bit of volume, I don't love it as much as my Seventeen Doll'd Up Mascara, that is the only one I put on my bottom lashes and trust to not smudge and crumble all down my face!

Moving onto lip products:
Tom Ford Lips & Boys Lipstick in "Alejandro"
If I'm going bright and bold, my luxurious Tom Ford Lips & Boys Lipstick in "Alejandro" does the trick. It's smooth, creamy and pigmented, everything you would expect an extortionately priced lipstick to be, it's beautiful!

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in "Pillow Talk"
If I fancy something a little less high maintenance with a more glossy finish, I turn to my lip product power team, the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in "Pillow Talk" and NYX Butter Gloss in "Creme Brule". They work perfectly with my pale skin and dark features, and are probably my most used lip products to date. If you're looking for an unstoppable nude lip duo, look no further!

So, that's the current contents of my makeup bag, I'd love to know what products are residing in yours?

XOXO Claire

  3. Thank you, it's actually a clutch I picked up from Miss Selfridges a while ago, but it works so well for makeup as I carry around pretty much everything but the kitchen sink haha. I can't recommend Pillow Talk enough, it's beautiful :)
