Beauty Products On Trial #6

It's time to put another bunch of beauty products on trial and today we have a mixed bag, a bit of makeup, skincare and strangely enough a toothpaste, I'll get to that one later. But first up, the skincare: So lets jump straight in, shall we?

Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser
I've been trying to track down this cleanser for over a month, it's like goldust! I finally found it in stock on Look Fantastic and I couldn't snap one up quick enough. As a "mud cleanser" fan I was really interested to see how it compared to my beloved Ren Clear Clay Cleanser, which I've re-purchased many times over. My first impressions are that it's very similar, except that it does have a thinner consistency. It leaves my skin looking extra glowy and healthy which I love, especially as my skin had been having some real issues lately. Only time will tell if it's a keeper, but so far it's looking good.

(Mini) Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm
First of all how cute is this miniature cleanser, it's so tiny. I've not been too impressed with Omorovicza products in the past, purely because of the price point. They are extremely expensive, but I figured this little pot of cleanser had been sitting in my samples drawer for long enough. I used it for the first time as my second step cleanser and it left my skin incredibly soft, really, I couldn't stop touching my face. Again I've only use it a couple of times so far, but considering it's size it shouldn't be too long till I make my decision. Love the packaging though, so luxurious.

Maybelline The Falsies Pushup Drama Mascara
I'm pretty picky when it comes to mascaras, I tend to favour more lengthening formulas. This one is definitely more volumising and while that isn't a bad thing, it is harder to do more than two coats, after that things get pretty clumpy. However the packaging is stunning, the epitome of what I think a mascara should look like, don't you agree?

Blanx White Shock Toothpaste
I dream about having a Hollywood smile, but I have pretty sensitive teeth and am very scared of whitening kits, so when I saw this toothpaste I thought I could kill two birds with one stone. Unfortunately I think this is a bit of a gimmick. The led light in the lid supposedly activates one of the ingredients in the toothpaste and it whitens your teeth every time you brush. Honestly I didn't notice much of a difference, it doesn't do anything a regular whitening toothpaste wouldn't do and considering it's nearly £8 a tube it's not exactly cheap. I won't be repurchasing this one, but if you have any other whitening toothpaste recommendations, I'm all ears!

Lancome Juicy Shaker Lip Oil* // Link
I was lucky enough to be sent two shades from Lancome's new Juicy Shaker Lip Oil range in "Freedom Of Peach" and "Cherry Symphony". I have to say first off, the whole package was super cute and clearly so much thought had gone into it, even down to the corresponding shades of jelly beans, they thrilled me and my tummy greatly. Onto the actual lip product, what can I say they are adorable. The cocktail shaker inspired bullet, really fits their #BanTheBoring campaign, as the lip gloss/oil has bio-phase formula so you have to "Shake, Shake, Shake" the bottle to disperse the oils into the pigment. If you're after a low maintenance, fuss free, non sticky, glossy lip, these are for you.

Freedom Of Peach & Cherry Symphony

As you can see here, I just swatched them lightly to show off the stain aspect, but they can be built up to add a glossy, but hydrating burst of colour. I can definitely see these lip oils becoming a staple in the summer, when I can't be bothered applying my liquid lipsticks and fancy something that I can re-apply during the day.

What products have you been trying out recently? Go on spill the beans, haha get it because of the jelly beans.... ahem

  1. I absolutely adore Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm & recently ordered my 5th pot! My only complaint is that I seemt o get through it very quickly & it is just so expensive! That toothpaste definitely looks gimmicky! I would highly recommend Janina whitening toothpaste & strips - they give a very visible difference in the space of 10-14 days xx

  2. Wow fifth pot, that's quite something. I'll definitely be giving it a good try, though the full price does terrify me slightly haha :)

  3. Ooo super super keen to read your full reviews of the Pixi and Omorovicza cleansers - they sound great so far though. I've heard a mixed bag of reviews about Omorovicza which is quite disappointing considering the price point but that balm has been on my wishlist for the longest time! xx

  4. Haha that toothpaste looks quite gimmicky but it looks like something that I would fall for just because it looks cool. I really want to try some lip oils because they're so trendy at the moment and most lip products dry out my lips (apart from lip balms obvsly)

  5. The Hair Repair is amazing, I have lighter ends too and it really helps keep them looking healthy. The Big shampoo really makes your hair supper clean so it's great for oil but it can be a bit drying so I rely on the Sachajuan one to help balance things out :)

  7. I know, I always fall for the gimmick. Though the lip oils are certainly not a gimmick they are really nice and hydrating the Clarins version is amazing too :)

  8. £8 a tube for the toothpaste - gosh!! I'd love if a toothpaste would whiten my teeth, but I've never really been that impressed by anything. I too have sensitive teeth, so laser whitening does scare me a little.

  9. I'm desperate to whighten my teeth but I'm too terrified, I hoped the toothpaste would work but I should have known when I read "it whitens every-time you open your mouth" haha :)

  13. Thank you, the Mud Cleanser is heavenly, definitely worth the hype. The peach shade is the lightest one they do, but who knows in the future they might ad a few more shades to the range :)
