A Nars Lipstick Fit For A "Khaleesi"

My exterior may scream girly girl and don't get me wrong, I watch re-runs of Gossip Girl more often than I would care to admit, but my true (tv) love lies with anything that gets your heart racing. The more adventure, violence and gore the better. Game Of Thrones most definitely ticks all those boxes, it's my ultimate TV show. Honestly, every episode is like a mini movie and they are certainly not afraid of shocking storylines. I've been an avid fan for the last 4 years and I just can't get enough. Danenerys Targaryen is obviously my favourite character, she's so strong despite everything she's been through and her ability to rock a serious hair braid makes me very jealous.

While rifling through my lipstick drawer I came across a particular shade that I thought suited her to a t, with the perfect name to boot. So as an ode to my favourite queen, and to celebrate the new sixth season, I thought I would devote a whole post to "The Mother Of Dragons" herself by showing you the aptly named Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in "Dragon Girl".

Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in "Dragon Girl"I'll give you a little rundown of the all the products on my face before I move onto the lipstick. So for my base, I choose my current obsession the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream, which is gorgeous. My usual combination of Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer for pimples and under my eyes, plus the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder to set everything down. I applied a bit of the Lorac Pro Contour Palette to try to give my face some kind of shape #babyfaceproblems. The Estee Lauder Pure Colour Blush in Witty Peach (a new re-discovery) gave me a nice flush of colour. Not that you can tell in the picture, but I did use my new Anastasia Glow Kit in Gleam, for my highlighter, stunning palette btw. For eyes, I did a wash of my Charlotte Tilbury Eyes To Mesmerise Cream Eyeshadow in Marie Antoinette and applied a coat of the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara. The jury's still out on this mascara, the first time I used it I loved it, now I'm not so sure, I'll get back to you.  Now to the main event, my Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in "Dragon Girl".

If you've had any experience with these Lip Pencils you will know how creamy and pigmented they are. I have a few shades and they are without a doubt one of my favourite matte lipstick formulations. This particular shade is a gorgeous blue toned, raspberry red and I'm not gonna lie, I bought it purely for the name. Though I do think Danenerys would approve.

What do you think of this shade, fantastic name don't you think? Are you a GOT fan? Out of interest, I'd love to know who your favourite character is, I do love Tyrion Lannister's one liners?

"It's not easy being drunk all the time, everyone would do it if it were easy!" hehe classic.

I'm well aware that this post will have made very little sense if you aren't a fan, but it's never too late to become one. If not, I hope you enjoyed this gorgeous red lipstick anyway haha.

XOXO Claire

  5. Thank you, aww thats a shame, I think it's definitely a love it or hate it show. I got my friend to watch few episodes and she hated it too, in return I watched a few episodes of Once Upon A Time (which she loves) and I didn't like that. It's interesting how people rect to different shows :)
