Lifestyle: My New Olympus Pen E-PL7 Camera

I spent the majority of March eagerly waiting for quite possibly, the most coveted camera in the whole world of blogging, the Olympus Pen E-PL7 to come back into stock. After three long weeks said camera finally arrived in all her white bodied glory and I couldn't wait to get acquainted.

Would you just look at this specimen, she is without a doubt the most beautiful camera I've ever seen and not only that, she was quite the bargain. I managed to pick this baby up from Jessop's for £299, a hundred quid cheaper than it's normal price. I have no idea why they had such a deal but I snapped one up. I did have to wait three weeks, not that I'm complaining though, I know a lot of people missed out on the opportunity, so I'm very grateful.

The main factor that sold me on the camera is the screen, it's actually nicknamed "The Selfie" camera, as the screen flips down directly underneath the lens, the best angle for a cheeky #Selfie. Not only that, but it also flips up to help achieve the perfect flatlay. It's also touchscreen, so you can focus the camera with just a tap of your manicured finger. If this feature alone doesn't pull you in, you can additionally take pictures with your phone using it as a remote, which could be groundbreaking for outfit pictures, only time will tell with this one.

Another amazing feature of this camera is that it has it's own built in WiFi, which is genius, it means you can send newly taken pictures directly to your phone, without the hassle of any cables. Clearly Olympus had Instagram in mind when they designed this camera.

Now as for actual picture quality, I haven't had much time to play around with it as of yet, but what I have shot looks very impressive, especially the makeup swatches. I'm definitely no camera buff, so it might take me while to get to grips with it, but we all know you don't stop by these parts for my picture quality, it's for my dazzling personalty, haha not!

Do you own this camera? I'd love to know if you have any tips, especially considering my camera skills are well below par.

XOXO Claire

  11. Oooh lucky you, it was most definitely the screen that sold it for me! I just got the regular lens kit as that was the only one on sale, but I just couldn't say no at that price ;)

  13. I love the look of the olympus pens, they're beautiful cameras. Sadly I can't really justify it as I already have a DSLR and a good compact :( I'm such a camera addict though!

  14. Aww thank you, that's so sweet fo you to say. I didn't think I could justify it either, but then I relized what a bargain it was and just had to go for it. It's amazing for makeup swatches and now I don't have to balance my camera on a book with a mirror behind it haha :)
