Spring Makeup Edit: Full Dior Face

Liquid Lipsticks may be the biggest beauty trend on the planet right now, but glossy lips could also be making a comeback, especially for Spring. Keeping that in mind, I was going through my extensive lipstick collection the other day and came across a gorgeous lip product that's sort of a liquid/glossy hybrid, and I really thought it deserved a mention on this here blog. The lip product in question is the Dior Addict Fluidstick in 373 Rieuse. Taking said lip-glosses lead, I decided to do a whole look using Dior products, so this is how my everyday look, perfect for Spring turned out.

A FOTD using Dior Makeup products
Dior Addict Fluidstick in 373 RieuseFor my skin I used my much loved Diorskin Nude BB Cream, I think the grubby tube speaks for itself. I like to use this BB Cream when I'm having a good skin day, as it's light to medium coverage but still hides imperfections. For my under eye bags and blemishes I used my Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer which does a fab job of both brightening and covering. I do have to set it to make it last, which coincidentally leads me too my Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder, definitely one of the messiest powers I've used but the results are oh so worth it.

Spring FOTD: Using Dior Addict Fluidstick in 373 Rieuse
For a bit of warmth and colour I used my Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow, which is always a favourite of mine. For blusher I used probably one of my most under-used shades, the Dior Healthy Glow Awakening Blush In 001 Petal.  On me this blush gives a lovely soft, baby pink flush, but thanks to it's special technology it adapts to each individuals skintone, which is pretty cool. I really do need to start using this more, the staying power of this blush is fantastic. Can't forget that glow, so my highlighter of choice was the very famous (back in the day) Dior Amber Diamonds Highlighter, which is still as gorgeous as it was from way back when. I know I'm sorry, I seem to have a habit of mentioning discontinued highlighters, e.g my recent rediscovery of Mac Whisper Of Gilt. I did have a Dior theme going, so I just went with it, don't hate me!

For my eyes I just popped a wash of the Dior Amber Diamonds Highlighter all over my lids, I wasn't feeling like wearing any eyeshadow. As for mascara I used a sample of the Dior Extase Mascara, but I wouldn't recommend it. The sample I had was very dried up and I found it so hard to get an even coat. I actually threw it away after a good 10 minutes of struggling.

Lips:
The star of the show is without a doubt this lipstick/gloss cross-breed in Dior Addict Fluidstick in 373 Rieuse. It manages to have the pigmentation of a liquid lipstick, with the creamy smooth texture and shine of a gloss. Now, I must say it doesn't have the lasting power of a liquid lipstick, I did have to reapply it for the above pictures, but it does stick around for a good couple of hours. To me it's the prefect "Spring" shade, that adds a pop of colour, while maintaining that fresh, easy breezy look.

Let me know what you think of the quality of these pictures? It's the first time I've used my new Olympus Pen EP17 Camera and all these pictures are unedited. I gotta say though, it's nice to be able to see where you're pointing the camera, no more balancing it on a book in font of a mirror haha.

Are you a fan of glossy lips, or are you still on the liquid lipstick train?

  3. Absolutely gorgeous my dear! It's so refreshing to see a glossy lip...to be honest, as much as I love a liquid lipstick I'm kind of getting tired of the trend. I know my poor chapped lips will thank me haha!

  6. Awww thank you, when I first got the Naked Concealer I really didn't like it, I even mentioned it in a disappointing products post, but now I love it, though I do have to mix it with an under eye con sealer to stop it creasing :)
