Beauty Products On Trial: Maybelline Edition #1

Early last week I had quite possibly, the most exciting and unexpected parcel arrive at my door. At the time I had no idea what it was, till I opened the box and everything made sense. Back at the start of April I received an email from Maybelline, thanking me for a review I did on their Falsies Push-Up Drama Mascara. First off, just to be acknowledged by a brand is huge, but they also asked me if I wanted to be a part of their #Maybellinesquad? Hell yes, honestly at first I thought it was an Aprils fool, I've never worked with such a huge brand before and I was literally floored that they chose me to be a part of it. Back to the parcel, inside was a gorgeous beauty case, filled with a whole host of their new makeup releases. I had no idea they were going to be so generous, it was one of those"pinch me" moments. I'm such a lucky girl, so let's go through them shall we.

I couldn't quite believe they had sent me the whole Vivid Matte Collection. We all know I love a good liquid lipstick and I had been eyeing these up online only a few weeks prior, so to receive all the colours was beyond exciting, I mean just look at them. I've only tried the shade "Nude Flush" (the second shade in) so far which is a lovely mauve, but I can't wait to crack open the neon shades (hello summer in a tube). For me these don't necessarily fall under the liquid lipstick category, which isn't a bad thing. I think people who struggle wearing lipstick with long lasting formulas will be a fan of these. Look out for a more in-depth post with swatches coming soon.
Every makeup collection needs a matte, warm toned bronzer with matching highlighter, and this one is no exception. It is quite orange toned, so I do have to use a light hand otherwise I start to resemble Dale Winton, but it just adds a nice warmth to my complexion, especially when teamed with the Contour Stick.
As I've mentioned many times I'm sucker for a new mascara and this one has found it's way into my everyday makeup bag. I'm not familiar with the original Lash Sensational Mascara, so I can't comment on how they compare, but I can say that this formula is very black and adds a tonne of volume. I'm normally very particular when it comes to volumizing mascaras, especially as my eyes are really prone to smudging, but so far this one is performing well.

Out of everything they sent me, this contour duo in "Light" is without a doubt my favourite, my round baby face was crying out for a product like this. One side is a gorgeously creamy, cool toned contour shade, the other, a matte highlighter. Now, I'm going to be honest, the highlighter side didn't really blow me away, but the contour is absolutely beautiful! I have a post already in the works to showcase just how amazing this contour stick is, so until then I'll have to keep you in suspense, but I will say, girls of a paler disposition are going to love this!

At first I thought these were cheek stains, thank goodness I sniffed them first haha. I haven't tried them on my nails yet, but they look like an interesting concept, "Neon Translucent Tints". We know I like Nail Polish (that's an understatement) so I can't wait to give them a whirl.

Just by swatching these glosses on my had I can already tell they are really smooth and pigmented. I was expecting them to be quite sticky but surprisingly they feel more like the NYX Butter Glosses (which you know I love) so I'm looking forward to trying them out properly.

You can never have enough lip balms and these ones have a hint of colour, so they make the perfect low maintenance summer lip essential. Plus the packaging is adorable, I love the bright turquoise one, it's my favourite colour if you didn't know.

I know for a lot of bloggers receiving PR Samples is pretty standard and considered normal, but for me, this really was a huge moment, one that I never imagined would happen, so thank you Maybelline for genuinely making my day, I am so grateful!

Have you tried any of these products? Let me know which you would like me to review first.
