I've been on a quest to find "My Perfect Nude Lipstick" for quite some time. Like I mentioned in my Contouring For Pale Skin Post, finding the perfect shade that enhances pale features, without washing you out is a challenge. If you saw my most recent Space NK & Boots Haul though, you'll know I may have discovered (at last) the perfect nude, that encapsulates everything I was looking for.
Let me introduce to my newest lipstick obsession, the Nars Audacious Lipstick In Brigitte.
I might as well give you a full rundown of all the other products on my face, while you're here:
For my face I used my Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Foundation, with a damp Beauty Blender. I haven't formed much of an opinion on the sponge just as yet, but the foundation I really like. I do have a full review coming up soon so I'll just leave it there for that one. I've been having serious issues with my under eyes recently, I don't understand how they can be both dry and oily, it's the strangest thing. Anyway, the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer definitely helps my dark circles, though because of it's thick consistency it does tend to crease, which is unfortunate.
On my brows I used my old faithful, the Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil, I honestly don't use anything else. That being said, I did pick up Anastasia's version a while ago to compare, but I just haven't got around to it, I'm a creature of habit when it comes to my brows. To add definition to my chubby cheeks I used the Maybelline Master Contour V-Shape Duo* the one that I showed in my Beauty Products On Trial: Maybelline Edition Post. Thanks to this duo stick, contouring is becoming second nature to me, it's so easy to just swipe and blend. My blush choice was the Tarte Love Flush Blush in Love Hangover, I have a dinky mini size from a gift set, but it more than makes up for it's size in the pigmentation stakes. Now I can't confirm it's claims of a 16 hour wear time (who wears blush for that long anyway?) but it does hang around for a hell of a long time. Plus it's a gorgeous peachy pink colour, perfect for both everyday wear and of course, Summer!
For my eyes I just did a wash of the Makeup Geek Starry Eyed Eyeshadow all over my lids. I don't have a tonne of lid space and my eyeshadows never really show up on camera anyway, so a One Wash Wonder Eyeshadow is enough for me. For mascara I stuck with my Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious* which has been another go-to recently. It gives a good length to volume ratio, but is natural enough for during the day. The formula is quite wet though, so I can only do two coats without things turning clumpy.
The Nars Audacious Lipstick In Brigitte clearly needs no introductions, it's the perfect "Pale Girls Nude". It has enough hints of pink and coral to stop it looking flat and it really brightens the complexion. The formulation is fantastic, super smooth, buttery, highly pigmented and they still manage to give a good three to four hours of wear time. I can tell already that this shade is going to become one of my throw on, easy to wear summer staples.
