Makeup Edit: Shopping My Stash (Spring 2016 Edition)

It's been a while since I "Shopped My Beauty Stash". If you're new to the beauty blogging world it's a term that was coined back in the day, by the lovely Laura which basically means trawling your makeup collection, rediscovering a few older things and giving them a bit of love, vs actually stepping foot in Boots. So, let me take you through a few products that have recently regained their rightful place in my everyday makeup bag.

I can hold my hands up and say I have no idea why I don't use this Estee Lauder Pure Colour Envy Blush in Witty Peach more often. I bought it an age ago in a CCO and while then it was limited edition, I now believe it's become a part of their permanent collection, as it should because it's stunning. Don't let the light yellow section put you off, it's the gorgeous warm toned peach shade that's literally Spring in a palette.

The Kiehls Clearly Corrective Dark Circle Perfector is basically sleep in a tube. It's a hydrating light weight eye cream, that packs quite a punch in the coverage department. A little goes a really long way, so while this tube may be quite pricey, a pinprick is all that's needed to help conceal any dark circles. I've also never come across an eye cream with such a high SPF of 30, though when you think about how delicate the under eye area is, it makes such sense, protect that under eye area ladies (and men)!

I've definitely drifted away from my Cream Eyeshadow Sticks over the last few months, favoring my Makeup Geek Shadows, but who says I can't indulge in both. I know I'm such a floozy, but the By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Misty Rock, Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon in Amber Haze and the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Rosegold are all really too beautiful to be tucked away in a drawer. I've learned my lesson, I really need to show them more attention!

Another selection of products that may have been slightly overshadowed by my current Liquid Lipstick obsession are the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils. Yes, they started my love affair with the easy to apply, long wearing, matte lip products, but over time I've definitely developed a love for the liquid kind. Luckily whilst doing research (aka: browsing my makeup collection) for my Nars Lipstick Fit For A "Khaleesi" Post, I rediscovered my love for my giant, pencil shaped lipsticks. I also wore my EL Blush in that post too so, if you fancy seeing it on my face you know what to do hehe.

Despite the arctic weather conditions (up here in Yorkshire), I thought it was about time I dusted off my Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Perfume, even though it seems like just yesterday that I put it away. It most definitely smells like a holiday in a bottle, think suncream mixed with salty sea air, drinking a margarita while lounging on a sunbed, reading a fashion magazine. Now tell me you don't want to smell like that? Haha thought not.

What products have you shopped from your stash recently?

XOXO Claire

  1. I love rediscovering forgotten favourites and make up bits!

  2. Ah I love that Estée Lauder perfume, still one of my favourites. I re-discovered the Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturiser and have been using it 3 months straight now. To think I wasn't over the moon for it when I first reviewed it and now it's a staple.

  3. That blush looks absolutely stunning. I also really want to get my hands on Bronze Goddess.
