Product Review: Colourpop Lippie Stix in Clique & Frida

If you've read my "How To Ship Colourpop To The UK Post" you'll know how excited I was to play with my new Colourpop makeup. It certainly didn't take me long to apply a few of the "Lippie Stix" to my face and I of course had to document the occasion for blogging purposes. After all, every fellow lip product lover knows when you find a good one (or in this case two), it's only fair to share! So let me introduce you to the two newest editions to my lipstick wardrobe, lets start with the "Matte Finish" first, shall we?

If you've visited these here parts before you'll know how much of a fan I am of bright, orange/red lips, they're situated slap bang in the middle of my lipstick comfort zone. So as soon as I saw KathleenLights rocking this colour, I knew it was going be my first Colourpop purchase.
I definitely had high expectations considering the amount of hype surrounding this brand as a whole, and their lip products in particular. However, they have completely exceeded my expectations. The Lippie Stix "Matte" formula's not only pigmented (that's a given) it's so creamy and long lasting, plus it sits really comfortably on the lips, without budging, for hours. The twist up, flat sided bullet makes the whole application process so much easier than a standard lipstick. Some people do say they find them a little drying, but as long as you use a good lip balm beforehand (I recommend the Nuxe Reve De Miel) and afterwards, you shouldn't have any trouble.

If "Clique" is a bit too bright or if you prefer a more satin finish, I do have an alternative.

A year ago I had very few "Nude" shades in my collection. I never thought they really suited me (hence my love for everything bright) but over time my attitude has certainly started to change, even more so now I have this gorgeous shade in my life. Frida is a beautiful, mid-toned, classic peachy pink that has a satin finish, meaning it's still uber pigmented, but unlike the matte finish it does have a more glossy appearance. The wear time isn't as long, but it still lasts longer than any of my other nude shades. I also feel like it really warms up my complexion, what do you think?

I'm seriously in love with these Lippie Stix, if you can't already tell by my gushing haha. I may have ordered a few other colours to beef up my collection. Look, when you find a lip product that's of serious quality, but costs under £4 it's a crime not to start a collection!

What do you think of these shades? Have you tried any Colourpop products? If so, what do you recommend, go on enable me!

XOXO Claire

  5. It's lovely isn't it, not one of my normal shades but I'm definitely loving nudes at the moment :)

  6. Is it weird that I'm kind of obsessed with how red lipsticks/bright lipsticks look on you? haha. I'm not a huge fan of red lipstick on myself, but I'm a red lipstick fan so I love seeing it on people who pull it off beautifully!! I'm glad you love the ColourPop Lippie Stix and were able to get your hands on more CP goodies!!
