I would say 90% of the beauty products I buy are blogger recommendations. Every blog post I read encourages me to add more things to my never ending wishlist. I did a post last year, "Blame The Beauty Bloggers Edit #1" showing a few products that I picked up thanks to certain beauty bloggers. Considering the mounting pile of products I currently have, I think it's time to "Blame The Beauty Bloggers" part two.
Tom Ford Lipsticks are certainly sat on the top rung of the luxurious lipstick ladder. I always used to long to have a black and gold, TM embossed bullet of my very own. Every time I saw one on a blog or being plucked from a handbag, I knew I had to add one to my collection. Luckily the makeup gods were looking down on me and I managed to pick up two shades, Violet Fatale & Crimson Noir, from a CCO in America, at a considerable discount.
My third addition, one of the mini Lips & Boys Collection in Alejandro was a really generous Christmas Present. Can we just address how adorable he is, anything in miniature has a place in my heart. I also may have recently purchased another shade, as a birthday present to myself, so let me know if you would like to see her. Obviously it goes without saying, you're paying for quality. I wouldn't say they are a necessity, in terms of formulation and shade range there are definitely rivals, but they make such a lovely gift, what girl wouldn't want to receive a Tom Ford Lipstick?
I recently did a whole post dedicated to the Nars Audacious Lipstick in the shade Brigitte, because I am currently obsessed with it. The Audacious formula is so creamy and opaque, one swipe deposits just right amount of colour and despite their creamy nature, they have a surprisingly long wear time.
I can totally blame Kate for encouraging me to add Natalie to my collection. As soon as I saw her wearing it in a vlog, I rushed onto Space NK and popped it in my basket straight away. It's such a gorgeous coral colour, which I don't actually have many of, that's how I justified it hehe. I actually ordered Brigitte at the same time to avoid paying shipping, does anyone else do that?
The Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser is quite literally sold out everywhere, honestly it's harder to get a hold of than gold dust. However I can completely understand why, it really does live up to the blogger hype, it's the perfect morning cleanser. As it's mud based it really detoxes the skin, but the creamy formula doesn't leave it feeling tight or dry. The squeezy tube is pretty deceiving too, I've been using mine for four months and it's still going strong, though I may have to put my name down on the waiting list, just so that I'm guaranteed a back up!
I saw Elanna mention the Perricone MD Blue Plasma Cleansing Treatment in one of her videos, I was having a binge session and it just sounded so interesting to me. I did a bit of googling, saw all the amazing reviews and decided to pick one up. It's essentially a non-rinsing cleansing treatment, I use it after I've removed my make up. It's actually quite shocking when I look down at the cotton pad and see all the dirt and grime that my first cleanse missed. It really leaves my skin feeling fresh, clean and hydrating and I've noticed a huge difference in the condition of my skin recently, and I think this treatment may be a huge part of that.
Last year every beauty blogger, vlogger and beauty enthusiast was raving about the Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil. I was lucky enough to receive it for Christmas and I've loved it ever since. It's a retinol based oil that really helps repair the skin overnight. Due to it's super high price tag I only use this twice a week, just to prolong it's life, but I do notice a difference. My complexion looks brighter and my scarring from pesky spots take less time to fade.
I blame Lily for making me pick up the O&M Atonic Thickening Spritz, she said it made her hair nice and volumised, which I'm all about and she was right. It gives a little lift around my crown, making my flat hair look more bouncy and voluminous. I love the bottle too, it's so unique and definitely stands out on my hair product tray. Yes, I have so many hair products they actually have their own tray. Also by the by if you haven't followed her blog, go do so because it's fantastic, her photography is so on point, very inspirational.
It just goes to show how much influence we bloggers have on each other, which is great for our beauty collection, not so much for our wallets. What have products have you been encouraged to buy thanks to a fellow blogger?
