Considering how jam-packed my May 2016 Beauty Favourites was, I thought June would be a more quiet affair. Even though in retrospect, I spent the majority of the month bare faced, due to feeling unwell, I still managed to discover quite a few beauty products that are swiftly becoming staples in my makeup and skincare routines. So lets run thought all the products shall we?
I briefly mentioned this treatment in my Blame The Beauty Bloggers Edit #2, but it's continued to be a fixture in my somewhat "lazy" routine this month. A drop on a cotton pad, swiped all over the face leaves my skin fresh and clean while maintaining hydration and giving gentle exfoliation. It has a no rinse formula and it's so easy to use, especially after I've removed my makeup. It's actually shocking how much product can still be left on your skin, after your first cleanse and this insures every last trace of makeup is removed.
Due to the insanely bad weather the UK seems to be having over the last few months, lets just say my legs have stayed hidden a little longer than normal. So when the time came for my gams to come out of hibernation - be it for a couple of days, I really did resemble a lizard (sorry for the gross visual). Hydration became my best-friend and this oil turned me back into a human. As it has a dry oil formula, it doesn't leave you standing in the bathroom feeling greasy, patiently waiting for the oil to sink in. The results are almost immediate. Not only can it be used to moisturise your body, it's also a multi-purpose oil, so you can also use it on your hair, face, nails and even in your bath. So far I've only used it on my hair and body, so do let me know if you've tried it in another way.
The NYX "Liquid Lipstick" formula is one of my favourites and not to boast, but I was a fan way before they entered the aisles of Boots. Early 2014 to be precise, and my collection has certainly grown since then. This peachy pink shade has been one of my staple lipsticks ever since I bought it. It works so well with my pale skintone, adding warmth but still maintaining that "Nude" "I'm not trying to hard" look. It's not that dissimilar to my natural lip colour, so it really is the perfect match for me.
As my birthday was at the beginning of the month, I decided to treat myself to, quite frankly, one of the most beautiful, luxurious lipsticks on the planet, Tom Ford "First Time". I do own two other Tom Ford Lipsticks, but they are quite bold and I was looking for an easy to wear, everyday nude to add to my collection and this one fits the bill perfectly. Expensive they certainly are, but boy do you feel fancy when you apply it!
L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in "Amber Rush".
I feel very naughty including this eyeshadow, as you can only buy this particular shade in the USA, but if you can find a way to pick one up, I implore you to do so. It's the most gorgeous, metallic rose gold that just looks stunning blended all over the lid, the pigmentation is second to none. One shade that is available in the UK though is "Sahara Treasure", a lovely metallic gold, so if you fancy trying out this formulation, definitely go swatch that shade as a pretty alternative.
This one is another birthday treat, but we'll just ignore the fact that I already have a drawer full of face masks, ok? My skin has been seriously lacking glow recently, so I fancied a new radiance boosting mask and this one delivers, it really brightens up my complexion. The crushed cranberry seeds are a great addition, as they give the skin an extra exfoliation as you're rinsing it off. I was a little worried it would have a strong spicy scent due to the turmeric, but it's very subtle.
The only downside is the colour, it reminds me of baby sick, just me? But I guess you can't have everything, I only have to put up with it for 10 minutes, so it's not the end of the world.
Becca X Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette.
How many of us were sat at our computers, fingers poised over the refresh button, eagerly waiting for this beautiful pallette to appear online? Quite a few I'm guessing and it certainly didn't disappoint. I knew there was a reason I held off picking up "Champagne Pop", it really is the most stunning highlighter I've ever seen. The middle blush shade "Amoretto" is such a wearable, goes with everything kind of colour. It does look quite nondescript in the pan, but it leaves the cheeks with a lovely natural flush of colour.
So what I thought was a relatively quiet month, actually turned out to be packed jam full of fantastic products. P.S Sorry for the low quality pictures, I've been struggling with low productivity and the absence of sunlight, so this is the best I could come up with.
What beauty products have you been loving this month? Did you mange to get your hands on one of the Becca Face Palettes?
