Current Beauty Product Favourites 2017

Long time no speak fellow beauty lovers, it's definitely been a while. A hundred heart emojis if you're still here reading my rambles, I'll try not to leave it so long in future. While I may have been a little absent from the blogging world, it doesn't mean I've not been adding to my already spiralling beauty wardrobe. I've got a bunch of new (to me) beauty products to share with you, so lets delve in shall we?

Makeup review of the Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette

NYX Lip Liner in "Nude Pink" £3.00
I never thought I would cheat on my beloved "Pillow Talk Lipliner" but I may have been having a small, tiny fling with this gorgeous shade from NYX. It is in the same colour family as the CT one, I certainly seem to have a specific criteria when it comes to lip liners, but it's so creamy and comfortable on the lips, not to mention how inexpensive they are. I'm actually surprised no one has discovered them sooner, what a bargain!

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in "Sexy Sienna" £24
To accompany said lip liner, I've been applying this "sexy"lipstick, which is literally Spring in a tube. I don't think I really have to explain my decision regarding Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks, you all know how I feel about those. Though I have posted a picture on my Instagram, if you fancy a look at this lipstick on. Also while you're there, why not give my account a little "Follow" #shamelessplug.

Makeup review of the Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette

Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette £39
I know, I know, yet another blogger singing the praises of this now infamous eyeshadow palette, but as someone who was once very sceptical, "Can something really live up to so much hype",  I can certainly say it's warranted. As a girl who would once upon a time never go near peach toned shades, I can now say I'm a convert. This palette has been my go-to over the last three months, I have barely touched anything else, with Georgia, Puree, Caramelised & Luscious being my most used shades. A tap in the pan is all that's needed, as the formulation is so smooth and buttery, I just can't get enough.

Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara £24.50
Don't you just love when complementary beauty samples get slipped in your online order, and then they turn out to be a star product? Well, that happened to me with this mascara. I think, no, I know I've mentioned before how picky I am when it comes to my lashes, I'm all about the length, and this mascara makes my lashes look so long and defined. It's definitely not going to impress those who like volume, but if you're trying to achieve long separated lashes, this one is for you.

Makeup review of the Hourglass Vanish Seamless Foundation Stick

IBeauty Skin Brush 21£22
The Beauty Blender is what I had been using exclusively, to apply my foundations, up until last month. I had never really understood the whole "Artis" foundation brush "thang", to me it just looks like an expensive tooth brush, however while searching Cult Beauty (a regular occurrence for me) I found a slightly cheaper alternative, and thought I'd give it a try. Plus I needed to bump up my order to get free delivery, just me? I was honestly so surprised.

Not only is this brush, which originates from South Korea incredibly soft, it also applies my foundation seamlessly and strangely enough, quicker than my beauty blender. I team it with the Hourglass Stick foundation, (which I'll get into in a second) and this brush just glides across my skin. It's also the perfect size, especially considering I have a face the size of a watermelon hehe.

Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick £42
This foundation is definitely not for people who prefer a light coverage, it's quite on the full size, but it just covers everything and because of the creamy texture it doesn't feel drying on the skin. I do always use a hydrating primer underneath and a setting water as a finishing step, just as a precaution as it's quite a thick formula. Using a Beauty Blender does sheer the formula out a little, but if you're after a Kardashian esk base this foundation might be the one for you. Though I will say if you suffer from very dry skin, I would probably run for the hills, just a note.

Product reviews of my favourite beauty products

Japonesque Kumadoru Contour & Highlighting Brush £24
No your eyes aren't deceiving you, this brush is indeed an amazing dupe of the very pricey Nars Yachiyo Brush. I'll be honest, it's the only reason why I bought it, but I'm so glad I did. The soft tapered bristles fit perfectly into the hollows of my cheeks making this the perfect powder contour brush. You could literally use this brush to apply any kind of powder product, sometimes I use the domed tip to pop a hit of blusher on the apples of my cheeks, it's truly multipurpose. So if you're pining for the Nars one, I definitely recommend trying this one, oh your bank balance will thank you too.

January Labs Restorative Tonic Mist £18
One of the constant members of my ever evolving skincare routine over the last 3-4 months has been this toner, which I again came across though a Cult Beauty sample and love it so much, I bought the full size. Most toners I've used in the past alway left my skin feeling tight and parched, but as this one is alcohol free it doesn't strip my skin, it actually leaves it feeling hydrated and quite refreshed. It also contains Aloe Vera and Which Hazel which are great for helping spots. I haven't heard much about this brand before, so if you've tried any more products, definitely let me know, I may have to try more  considering how well this toner's performed.

I'd say the last few moths have been pretty successful in terms of beauty products, wouldn't you say? Which products have been sat at the top of your beauty radar over the last few months, let me know I'm always adding recommendations to my wish list.

                                                                   XOXO Claire

  12. No problem, I'm obsessed with it, it's honestly so worth the hype! As for the smell it's a little synthetic for my taste, but I don't really buy products for the scent, it could be worse though, it could smell like watermelon, which I would hate haha :)

  13. The Sweet Peach palette looks so pretty but for some reason not very tempting to me. That Japonesque brush seems like a total dupe, I must try it out! x

  14. I felt the same way about the Anastasia Modern Renaissance Palette, but one day I just gave in and I'm so glad because it's absolutely stunning! As for the brush it was such a bargain, it's half the price of the Nars one :)
